Day 1: Arrive Paro
Pick up from International airport, welcome assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, a short excursion to Dzongdrakha Monastery, the cluster of cave temples seems like hanging on a cliff. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 2: Paro
In the morning visit Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined fortress from where Bhutanese repelled several invasions by Tibetan armies. On a clear day, there is splendid view of Mt. Chomolhari from the approach road to this Dzong. En route stop to visit Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest and the most sacred temple in Bhutan dates back to the 7th century. Later visit Ta Dzong (National Museum - closed on Mondays) and then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, the fortress which has a long and fascinating history. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 3: Paro / Thimphu (55 km, 2 hours)
In the morning drive to Thimphu via visit to Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the School for religious and cultural studies. In the afternoon visit Anim Dratshang (nunnery), National Library, Handmade Paper factory & Memorial Chorten (stupa). In the afternoon, as the time permits, visit to School of Arts & Crafts, Textile & Folk Heritage Museum, Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang (temple) and Handicrafts Emporium. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

Day 4: Thimphu - Hike to Cheri & Tango monasteries (15 Km)
Excursion to Cheri monastery built on the mountain in 1619 and is the upper education level monastic school. Later drive to Tango monastery which dates back to 13th century but re-built in the 17th century by 4th temporal ruler of Bhutan. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.


Day 5: Thimphu / Punakha (75 km, 2.30 hours)
In the morning drive to Punakha taking a short stop at Dochula pass (3,080m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan. In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten (stupa). Evening is free in fascinating Punakha valley. Overnight at hotel in Punakha.

Day 6: Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang / Paro (145 km, 5 hours)
In the morning drive to Wangdue Phodrang town visiting Dzong and local market. Later drive back to Paro. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 7: Paro / Depart
In the morning, transfer to the airport for your homeward flight or onward destination.
